Plum Walnut Scones
Not Just for Tea Time Anymore!

Tart but oh so sweet scones!
Plum Walnut Scones are easier than pie to make.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
4 Tbls. sugar
2 1/4 tsps. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup cold butter
2 eggs
1/3 cup half-and-half
1/2 cup finely chopped dried plums
1/3 cup chopped walnuts

Pre-heat oven at 400 F.
In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and butter blend together with fork opr pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add dried plums and walnuts; Stir.
In a small bowl combine eggs, and half-and-half mix well and pour into flour mixture, stir until completely incorporated and moistened ( mixture will appear to need more half-and-half ).
Turn onto a well floured surface and kneed 3 times then pat and shape into a 7 or 8 inch circle that is 3/4 inch thick, cut into 8- 10 wedges. Separate wedges and place on a lightly greased baking sheet leaving wedges about 1 inch apart .
Brush on buttermilk or half-and-half on the tops of scones ( you may also sprinkle sugar as well ) and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Great as is or with jam or honey!
