Apple Crisp

This traditional apple crisp is simple to make and absolutely delicious. For best result use firm tart apples such as granny smith.



Ingredients

4 large or 5 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced 1/4 cup sugar
a pinch of nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons water


Crisp

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place apples in a meduim sized bowl and sprinkle with nutmeg, cinnamon and 1/4 cup sugar. Add water and stir together.

Place the apples in a 9 inch square baking dish. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar together. Add flour and mix well. Pat the flour mixture over the top of the apples and bake 35 - 45 minutes.
